The Jessamine County Health Department is accepting applications for contractual employment of a full time Customer Service Associate.
General Duties include:
Patient Registration and Patient Exiting
Register patients to ensure e-chart has up-to-date information concerning address, telephone, income (if appropriate for services needed) and number in household. For WIC patients, get proof of income, residence and identification. Always check for insurance and income for all services. Always make sure the necessary paperwork is completed and signed by the patient or guardian. Issuing WIC benefits after the patient has been seen by the provider and scheduling their next appointment. Uploading labels to the patient’s e-chart. Issuing WIC EBT Cards to appropriate patients and ensure the rights and responsibilities form is signed. Giving explanation to patients on how and where to use their WIC Card. Replace any lost or stolen card. Apply on date of visit for presumptive eligibility on any positive pregnancy test in which the patient does not have Medicaid, which includes income determination and printing of Medicaid card from the Internet after approval has been established. Ensure custody is identified, proper paperwork is given and signatures are on all forms needed in the medical record. Make sure the voter registration form is signed by all patients that qualify and then printed out for auditing purposes. Check patients in and out for VAXCARE as needed. For immunizations, check the Kentucky Immunization Registry for any previous shot records and then upload them to the patient’s e-chart. Review informed consents for immunization and contraceptives to assure that these have been properly executed so that the agency is protected from medical liability. Properly code the encounter for the service you may have completed during clinic visit. Collecting and applying payment for services rendered, printing receipts and giving to the patient.
Responsible for the front desk receptionist duties. Those duties include and not limited to: greeting the public, answering multi telephone line system, directing phone calls to the appropriate staff, and scheduling appointments for our providers. Overall knowledge of the Health Department and functions are necessary to keep the public informed.
Scanning patient charts into the new EHR system. Filing old patient charts and help maintain a clean and organized work environment. Electronic faxes – filter through all faxes and make sure they get to the correct staff member. Maintain the health department telephone greeting message system and change as deemed necessary. Trouble shooting: Contact Custom Data Processing for trouble shooting for computer and printer problems. Completes OSHA requirements annually. Responds to public health emergency situations as deemed necessary by Director or Supervisor.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: High School Diploma or GED with Basic Computer knowledge and typing skills.
Special Requirements: (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.) Must have a current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance.
Starting Salary: $11/hr - May be adjusted at agency’s discretion based upon additional education, experience, licensure, certifications, etc. Agency Benefits provided.
